Dumb box award part 2....

This email came through after Ron had pulled that dumb box award the other night about the babies. My dad (amy) aka Papa Boo....was there that night and was helping with feedings. When he left he ran over Amanda's bike. Trashed it.
This is the conversation that took place....we have a lot of grandpa's who are clueless..... love em tho!!!

I'm still laughing with Ron after reaing the bog from Mandy tonight. I thought I was getting the award for running over Amanda's bike. I feel like a piece of shit for that trick.

I said to Amanda "I'm so sorry honey, I'll replace it. I am a complete idiot". She said to me, "no offense but you are"!

LOL

my dad is out of control

post by mandy
this is not a mandy lie. my dad thought harper was a girl tonight. he has been here for 7 weeks and thought we named one of the girls harper. is he living under a rock?

then he kept calling his cell phone for like literally 8 times and i was watching him turn in circles. he was looking for his cell phone and it was ringing in his pocket.
he could hear it he just couldn't find it.

then one of the babies was crying in it's bassinet. and i just happened to glance at my dad and he jumped out of his chair and said, "i'm not sittin on a baby am i"

As the Camby Mayor I would like to present Ron Sheckles with the dumb box of rocks award.

back to work

post by mandy
i'm officially back to work. i said i'd go back full time as soon as kerry came home. so here i am:) i will be ultra excited once amy and i have a routine done. my mom has been absolutely beautiful help to us. she spends every spare second she has at our house helping. thanks to the best Marmee in the world. She goes by Marmee instead of Grandma Sheckles. ha, i wonder what i will go by. well amy and i have these babies because i was working on my bucket list. i can now mark another thing off mybucket list. MY MULLET. i have a baby mullet, but it counts. and let me tell you it's not fashionable at all. i was actaully a little embarrassed of it yesterday. and you want to know what's even funnier. I knew that no good hairdresser would give me a mullet so i had to go to Great Clips. and umm well my mullet is not so great. but it's off my bucket list. now if i just had a shaved head, I'd be stunning!!!

one big happy family

post by mandy
we picked up kerry yesterday. we are officially one big happy family. it was so nice yesterday once we were all home. i did keep forgetting she was home and kept getting only 3 of everything. yesterday at about 10pm i got a little freaked out when they were all in their swings that we had 4 babies. thank god for all the good help we have had. The 4th baby is lots more work. we aren't really interested in visitors unless they can help. just visitors create work for us. we are trying to lightened our load not add to it;)

kerry

post by mandy
i have been saying all week that it's my intention for kerry to come home on monday. we got the call today to bring in her carseat so they could test her out in it for a release of monday. yipppeeee. keep your fingers crossed. they pretty much just told her to sink or swim today with her feedings and took her tube out of her nose. i'm fine with that. she can do it. if all goes well she'll be home on memorial day. gotta love it.

stink eye

post by mandy

Tillie is always giving me the "stink eye" i tell amy that tillie will find no humor in me when she's older. amy said "ya just like 2 other people i know that find no humor in you, me and amanda" so here's tillie sportin' some sun glasses. she's gonna have amy's sassy ass attitude.

what's up chicken butt

post by mandy
today i was on bike ride with the 3 bigger kids. and manda says, "mom is there horse radish here?" i was like, "what?" she said, "is there horse radish weeds here?" she was meaning weeds that i call horse weeds. we chew on them when we ride our bikes. kids are goofy.
kerry needs to have a talk with herself and start eating so she can come home. i talked to the doc today and she has a heart murmur. they are doing an echocardiogram tomorrow to look at the structure of the heart to see if it's a big deal or not. i went and bought her some stones to put by her bedside to aid her in eating more and having strength. amy is giving kerry the best crib. she is showing favoritetism and that aint right!!!!! :) i am gonna switch to the mormon team and am currently looking for 7 additional wives to help us take care of all these babies:)

Creepy white van

In the search for a new van I had one stip..... NO WHITE.
My dad found some vans for sale in California. Sent us the email. We looked at them and I remember thinking Damn, that would be an awesome van. They had all captains chairs. I hate vans that have the bench seats, uncomfy for all.
Well, Mandy started talking to these guys in cali about their vans and we actually bought one.
12 passenger van with 12 captains chairs. The vans were used for companies to haul their employees back and forth. So all chairs recline and you can rearrange the seating arrangement.

Can you believe !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My van is WHITE!!!
Creepy white van here I come. Will post a pic when I get it. It arrives on Monday.

update for those who have nothing to do ...... ((smiling))

Sunday ..... may something....2009
we have had company from Tennessee since Friday. Cindy and Erin came to meet the babies. Teri has been here with all of us, and it has been like a family reunion. Great having the house full of all this wonderful help.
Update...
Harper is doing really well. He is still the noisy one. Grunts grunts grunts all the time. The girls answer him and grunt back. He is eating well. He likes the mobile in the crib. It quiets him instantly. He still has very little hair, and I have officially fallen in love with him.
Tillie is beautiful. She is the rock star eater. Empties every bottle. We start her first, and sometimes prop her bottle until we can get everyone else situated. Even still, if we start her first, she is finished in record time to move on to the picky eaters. She still has lots of dark hair. Not as much as Kerry. When we bed the kids down at night, I put Tillie in the middle, her arms fall to the sides and the other 2 on each side of her. They snuggle up to her. She does not like to be on the outside. Tillie was the gatekeeper in the womb. She was at the bottom of the uterus and all others were piled on top of her. She still likes it that way.
Kennedy is amazing. For being so absolutely sick in the nicu, she is thriving. She is a stubborn eater, and Cindy has been pushing the milk down Kennedy all weekend. She has the cleft chin, and now that she has some weight on her, she has a huge dimple in the right cheek. So cute.
She can not stand to be in the middle at bed time, she was up in mandy's rib cage the entire pregnancy hanging out by herself, and she still likes it that way.
Kerry is still in the nicu. Not to be rude, but she is the most beautiful of the babies. Maybe that's because she isn't home? She isn't eating. She still takes most of her feedings in her G tube. Doctors say it is a "preemie" thing. Mandy just took Cindy and Erin to meet her, and I couldn't stand the th0ught of going and not bringing her home. I broke down about it today...healing from the inside out.....come on Kerry....We are all rooting for you.

Kennedy Erin

Tillie
Kennedy Harper

Ahhh, what a great day to bring h0me a baby. We took Tillie and Harper to the eye dr. today. That was really gruesome. They put these tools in their eyes and pull their eyes apart. Oh my.... It was strange. They don't have what ever eye disease they were looing for, but we do go back in 2 weeks to recheck all the veins in the back of their eyes.

So, It was so cool to go and pick up Kennedy today. And, so darn sad to leave Kerry there.

Kennedy has fit in just like I had suspected. She grunts just like Harper. She is sleeping with Tillie on Mandy's lap right now. They look so rested and scrumptious. We had friends come tonight and help. They cleaned the nursery, washed bottles, washed baby clothes, and fed babies. Goodness, they worked their fannies off. Amanda had a soccer game and Bradley had a baseball game, so Mandy and I took off in different directions. When Amanda was born I wouldn't leave her with a sitter until she was 6 months old. Seriously. When Bradley was born he breast fed and that was my excuse not to leave him. Well, that just isn't possible with quads. Really, can you imagine? I would have been pulling my hair out by now. But isn't it really opposite that we had a baby sitter for Kennedy 4 hours after she came home? Wrong....Really wrong. She is so stinking cute....

Here are some photos....

Thanks for all your support.

kennedy, kennedy, kennedy

self check out

post by mandy
have you ever tried to let 3 kids under the age of 7 change, feed and burp babies. Well let me tell you i felt like the cashier at the store that runs all the self check out lanes. Running from register to register helping all the people that took that item out of the cart to soon and not in the bag fast enough. "please place the item in the bag" "do you have any coupons?"
i was running from kid to kid and they were having problems with the babies. "please place the bottle in the mouth"

negative 6 weeks

post by mandy
i am at work today talking about the kids and one of the guys said the funniest thing. i was explaining how the babies are 34 weeks old and really should be cooking for 6 more weeks. so a little while later he was talking about how it's going to be impossible for amy and i to get babysitters for 4 babies that are negative 6 weeks to take amanda and bradley to chuckee cheese.
One of the other guys that works for us said, "now you are 4 months pregnant?" while we were waiting to go eat at the chinese buffet. Apparently i still look pregnant. I had never met this employee before and he was off to a great start!! Speaking of looking pregnant when you aren't i have 38 lbs. more pounds to lose.

kennedy and kerry

post by mandy

i was sad to have to leave kennedy and kerry at the nicu. i fed kennedy today and she sucked her bottle down like an ol' drunk. i was very happy with how she acted and looked tonight. she is out of isolation. doc thinks that her and kerry will be home in a week. kerry will prolly come home first. kerry might even be home by this weekend. we were all saying goodbyes to the nurses and docs and then said, "wait, we will see you tomorrow" amy and i are firm believers in loving and hugging the babies so they get their love tanks full so they can come home. we will make time to go hold kerry and kennedy.

Post by Amy

I am sitting next to the bassinet in the family room wondering where Kennedy and Kerry will lay? Tillie and Harper have been a piece of cake so far. It seemed like Christmas bringing them home. They were both fed by Amanda and Bradley. Nana Boo and Marmee are both here. It is 15 min till feeding time and Harper has started his usual grunting. How funny that he has this habit already. Gotta love it.

hot dog they are home

post by mandy
here's manda and bradley holding the babies when the got home. they couldn't wait. here's amy holding Harper in his come home outfit. (amy forgot their real wear home outfits) we were 20 min. from home and she said, "SHIT, i forgot their come home from the hospital clothes"

Tillie and Harper

Tillie has passed her car seat study. She received her hep B shot today. Tillie passed her hearing test. She weighs 4.11. She is ready to come home. I can't wait to get her here.

Harper had his circumcision done today. He received his hep B shot. Passed his hearing test. He has not taken his car seat study as of yet, because the nurse thought he would be uncomfortable in it after all he's been through today. Why do they wait to do everything in the last 12 hours? I dunno? But they do. Anyway, I can't wait to get him home too!

I went to walmart tonight and completed the last purchase that I needed before they come home tomorrow. Formula. Now I have it, now they can come. We are totally ready. THe house is on my nerves, it is messy and I am being ocd about it. However, the babies won't notice. Right? Amanda and Bradley can't wait to hold them tomorrow and give them a bottle. They have only been able to see them in their incubators, and they really want to show them some love. Ahh...

For those serious readers out there.... I keep getting emails about what we need. As you all know I am a control freak, and the last email that I sent out about people wanting to come and feed or help in anyway to email me. Amyjopaul@aol.com. I am still not needing anyone, and therefore have not asked anyone. But the time is coming and QUICK. I have started a list of those wanting to help with their info and what they are willing to do. If you want to help me, send me an email and let me know what you want to do and when. I appreciate anything I get. I know that this is a huge stretch for me. I am a river dancer for those of you who get that one...
(control freak). STReeeeeeTCH.......
Get this, we have a couple that volunteered to do the babies laundry. They came and helped me set up the nursery. They haven't been here for awhile simply because once the laundry was done there wasn't much to do. But they have donated one day a week to the cause. We love you guys!!!

I guess I should go and get a really good nights sleep tonight....This is like the night before an early flight on vacation when you should be asleep, but you can't sleep. Peace out...... Amy

mandy holding 3 out of 4

post by mandy

here i am holding kerry, tillie and harper on saturday. we are so excited to get to have harper and tillie home so soon. i am feeling lots, lots better. i even putzed around worked today a bit. it has been great to feel like my old self again. i even went through the taco bell drive thru 10 min. apart today. 1 steak soft taco just didn't cut the mustard. i knew when i pulled into the next taco bell on the right i was back to mandy. amy and i got a good laugh at that. (however, i didn't like what i ordered the second time, so amy ate it) i was trying to be cheap and order off the .89 menu. BAD IDEA. Should have just spent the extra .50 and got another steak soft taco:)

as the world turns

post by mandy
so i have had a turn of events on a few things. i am DONE pumping as of midnight last night. Everynight at 5pm on the nose i was crying because my hormones were so out of wack.
Dinner was oh so enjoyable with me being a cry baby every night. i have been so under the weather i decided i needed to get my shit together for these 6 kids. They are gonna be home soon. so i am going back on the hormones that once upon a time before i became pregnant i used to be on. i couldn't take that concoction while breast feeding. i am slowly but surely getting rid of all of my ailments. my (original) obgyn doc thinks my headaches are muscle spasms. I am a Spaz. Wonder if that's what it could be? I saw him today for the first time since all this has happened. he was very surprised about the quads. Normal obgyn docs don't usually delivery quads so i was shipped to a specialist right from my fertility doc. he was a site for sore eyes today. i got in the car and took my candy (hormones) immediately. Amy has been my biggest supporter while pumping. last night she looked at me and said, "your color isn't right, you are gray" i knew then she was done too with me pumping. I pumped 4 weeks. Let me tell you i'm not sure what is worse the pumping or how bad my boobs hurt right now while this milk dries up. Wonder if this is how blue balls feel for men????? This is cruel and unusual punishment.

Kennedy

There hasn't been much press (photos) of Kennedy, because she has been so sick. Frankly, she looked horrible. So, Nana asked for some pictures of Kennedy. I will get more over the weekend, because I think they will let me dress her in the next couple days. She is feeling better. She is still a little lethargic. However, she is off her oxygen, and is now being fed again. She was on total belly rest for 10 days. She was hungry. Now eating again. She weighs 4.3 !!!Thank GOD! Thank you for all the energy and prayers.
So, when naming our kids, my mom tried to give me grief that no kids had been named after my dad. Well, 2 of our kids are showing some serious RED hair. Guess who that comes from? My dad had ORANGE hair as a kid. It is brown now, but I can only guess this red head on Kennedy came from Papa Boo!!!
GO KENNEDY!
