germ bags

The babies have been passing sickness around like wild fire. First, they had a stomach bug that made all their bums hurt. Now they are dripping from the noses with snot. O boy, it isn't pretty. We are going to call our Thanksgiving destinations and find out if we need to keep our germ bags at home. I know that we have passed our colds to our baby sitters. I hate that. It's like being a first year teacher. Always sick. Luckily Mandy and I have stood strong, you know...we really don't have time to be sick.
We have been sitting the babies in their high chairs and feeding them. Their latest favorite thing to do is to eat crackers. It took me an hour to sweep up the mess today. Then for dinner, they got crackers again until it was time to eat the real deal. Dejavu.
My dad heard my plea for a quad table. He is building me one. Ahhhh.....what a papa! We call him Papa Boo. He is Bradley's best buddy. Bradley asked him the other day to buy him wood for Christmas and build him a tree house. Isn't that the sweetest! Amanda told me she wished Papa would build something for her. I told her "if only you knew". Papa builds all our Christmas toys. HAHA...but I couldn't give that away to her. Not yet!
This week we had pictures taken. Nana Boo had asked me what I was waiting for since the babies were 7 months old. I had this huge mental block about getting their pics taken. Like maybe it overwhelmed me or something. ??? could that be? Anyway, we went on Sunday and had them taken. Pretty good pictures. I will post some when I have them handy.
This morning I was rocking Kerry in my room. I was playing with her, and laughing...we were having a good time. Tillie and Kennedy were across the room playing on the floor. All of a sudden, I felt this cold hand on my foot. I looked down and Kennedy was laughing at me. I read her mind... she said "here I am , Play with me." She crawled or rolled or something all the way across the room.
Someone sent a note about "Big Mammas". We are not doing big mammas. We had several networks contact us ... nothing came through. We are really glad at this point. I mean really, look at Jon and Kate. Mandy and I have always been an open book. Have a question...ask. We really don't mind sharing our lives with people. We did question a few weeks ago about not blogging anymore. I have however stopped posting so many pics of the kids. Ya never know who's reading our blog. There actually are some people out there with ill intentions. I guess you could say we have become a little more protective of our brood. I love blogging, but don't have much time to do it anymore. The babies keep me so busy during the day, and when the big kids come home I want to be with them and when they go to bed Mandy and I catch up and watch our favorite shows and lay in our bed. Last night she couldn't stay awake. I tried to watch Greys anatomy but fell asleep during the show and had to turn it off. There are days when I just pass out. OF course....

raw moonies (tushes, bottoms, hineys)

The babies have all had a stomach bug for the past month. It has passed from them to me, to Bradley, to Lynn, to the other babies. I think we are finally on the outs with it. Kerry is the last one to get it. Her hiney is the latest problem. I have used every butt paste available on the market. With 4 raw bottoms, each at a seperate time, I have tried everything to help them not hurt. When I say raw.... I mean RAW. Places where there is no skin left. Poor babies.
So, here is my help to all the mothers out there that have a favorite butt cream. There is none NONE none better than

dun dun dun...... TRIPLE PASTE.
I used it on Kerry the other night and by morning her bottom was repairing itself. Literally she had new skin growing. The Triple paste is in the isle with all the others .. butt paste, A& D, Desitin, Aquaphor....It is 3 x the price. However, it works. SO, I am a firm believer in "ya get what ya pay for!" I will not buy any other paste for raw bottoms. It must be TRIPLE PASTE.

Teri Sheckles Birthday

Today is Teri's birthday. Teri is my right hand woman. She is Mandy's mom. She comes everyday to help me with the babies. When she comes she walks in the door and yells "hooty hoot". No matter what, that's what she says. She walks into the kitchen and unloads the dish washer. She makes bottles, and then says "how are the babies today?". She puts in a load of laundry, folds the laundry that she started the day before, and puts it away. We work well together. This house has become her house. The kids have become her kids. She has friends come and visit her and her babies. She comes and unconditionally helps me be sane. She is my godsend.
Happy Birthday Teri. I love you.
Amy

Bradley's birthday season is upon us. This past week we went to Kabutos for dinner. We all went home with the japanese steakhouse sickies. I bought a cake from the best cake lady in town! Sweet Seductions. Paige. I ordered a skateboard cake for Bradley for his party. We switched the party and I knew that the cake wouldn't last that long. So, we just caved and cut the cake that night for us. OMG... Seriously. I could see the moisture in the cake !!! We cut the cake at 5:00 on Monday night and ate the last piece on Wednesday morning. The cake was suppose to feed 15 peeps.... lol!!! So, Here is my pitch... If you want the best cake ever....it's paige at Sweet Seductions. I will post a picture when I can find my camera to download it. Yeah, Im not disorganized or anything.

Amanda has a birthday coming up and she has asked to have a kid party. It will be our first. Mandy and I are a little nervous. Like, what if now one comes? Is that our shit or what?
Tillie has started to crawl. She took 2 steps tonight. Harper has been sick all week. He had a stomach virus. It has now ben passed to Kerry and Kennedy. His bottom was really broken down and looked aweful. We finally have it healed. Now Kerry's looks bad. We have opted to not get flu shots or h1n1 shots. Please...If you have the flu, or if you have been around the flu, DO NOT COME OVER. OR let us come to you. There are some things we cannot hide from, but we can control the amount of sick people that come here, or the sick people we visit. Is anyone else out there just saying no to the flu shots?
On Friday I called Mandy home from the office because I was having melt down. My worst time of day is when I am home alone with the quads and Bradley before noon. Right about 9:30 all the babies start to cry and fuss, and that's the same time Bradley needs me. I think it is just that he senses the stress and starts getting needy. Mandy came home and when she walked in I had the last baby in my arms feeding. She has put in order a schedule . . . babies have to take their morning nap at 9:30. We did this over the weekend, and would you believe...it does make it easier. Let's see if I can handle it in the morning!
My 40th birthday is on Wednesday. Yep, 40! I have a list a mile long of things I want to do, but with quads...when will it all happen? LMAO!!!
I am waiting to watch Dexter in 5 minutes. Best show ever.

Another Milestone

Last night, our family had gone home for the day...(marmee comes to help) and it was Me and Mandy and the 6 kids. We all sat down at the dinner table together for the first time since the babies have been here. It was so fun, enjoyable, humbling. Here's how it went down...

Mandy had Kerry in a high chair beside her. Tillie was in the bumbo seat on top of the table. I had Kennedy and Harper in high chairs on both sides of me. Amanda and Bradley always share one of the big "king" chairs at the head of the table. Mandy gave all the babies teething biscuits to chew on. Tillie had it dripping from her chin, all down the front of the bumbo chair and onto the table cloth. It was a hot mess. Harper could only hold onto his part of the time so I spent a lot of time fishing his out of his high chair. Kennedy was eating peas - and you know when they shake their heads to find the spoon? Well, she couldn't have them shoveled in fast enough. Kerry didn't seem interested in anything, but she sat patiently while everyone else indulged. Amanda and Bradley played hi/ lo with us.
Really, we are June and Ward Cleaver.!!!! HJAHAHAHAH
After dinner, we carried the babies upstairs to bath all 6 kids. The big kids get in the tub and wash the babies. It's so sweet. They really love the babies. I am always aware of how fortunate we are that they love them so. It could have been a really jealous year. All 6 kids went to bed squeeky clean. Babies were asleep by 8, Amanda and Bradley asleep by 8:30, Mandy was asleep by 9, and I hung out on the computer till 10 shopping craigslist. I am looking for a cash register to buy for Bradley's birthday. If you have one ... give me a shout!

Need a quad feeding table. Know anyone that has one? Do you have one?
